How to prevent mould

The main way to prevent mould is to prevent moisture build-up and damp. You can do this by ensuring all extractor fans and ventilation are in good working order, and keeping the household at a reasonable temperature, to give any water a better chance of evaporating. Ventilation also disperses any spores that are present in your house to the outdoors, and reduces the humidity of the air indoors.

You can prevent moisture build-up in your home by fixing any leaks and incursions, using ventilator fans in kitchens and bathrooms, and dry your clothes outside if possible. If you have a dryer, try to ensure the tube releases the moisture to the outdoors if possible. Using dehumidifiers and air conditioning is also beneficial.
